ANNUAL MAJOR EVENTS
FOXFEST
FOXFEST is an annual introduction event for new students organised by the Estonian University of Life Sciences Student Union. FOXFEST is recommended for all new students, as it is a great way to get acquainted with your course mates and other students. It is a great way to get to know the university structure and campus, get some initial tips on how to use the ÕIS and generally get ready for the school year. Apart from all the essentials, there will be dancing and raging in the evening, as one of the integral parts of FOXFEST is the party in Metsamaja, where new and old students meet!
IDUS day
On 20 September, the International Day of University Sports (IDUS) will be celebrated worldwide. In Estonia, activities related to the International Day of University Sports are coordinated by the Estonian Academic Sports Union in cooperation with its member schools and their sports clubs.
IDUS Day is also celebrated on the weekdays before and after 20 September. This year IDUS Day will take place on 18 September.
STUDENT SUMMER GAMES
Summer Games is Estonia’s largest and only sports and entertainment event aimed at students, which takes place in the Kääriku Sports Center. During three days, students will be tested in 40+ different sports.
The event will feature traditional women’s mud wrestling and many other exciting activities. Two exciting party nights are worth waiting for in addition to plenty of sports.
STUDENT WINTER GAMES
The winter games are a three-day winter sports competition between students, where all possible winter sports are performed in any weather. The event has areas for all levels – everyone can participate. There are a total of about 20 competition areas in the program.
In addition, there is a separate entertainment program, which includes the Beer Pong tournament on Friday evening and the style party on Saturday.
The purpose of the games is to provide participants with an intense sports and relaxing entertainment program in winter. To popularize both joint and individual sports among the students.
YLIPALL
YLIPALL is the first sports-entertainment event between universities and colleges aimed at students of the three-part event series YLISPORT (YLIPALL, Student Winter and Summer Games). At the conclusion of the series of events, an activity and performance trophy is awarded to the best university or higher education institution. The top three teams in each sport will be awarded.
The event is organized by the Ylisport team of the Estonian Academic Sports Association (EASL). Their goal is to increase the number of athletic and active students and thereby improve the general health and quality of life of young people.
Student days
Tartu Student Days is the biggest student festival in the Baltic States held in autumn and spring and organised by the Tartu University Culture Club. The festival is generally 7-10 days long, with daily events for students and the general public. There are traditional events that have been organised at every festival for years, but newcomers always add to the excitement.
